Crews install new welcome signs

Date: 06/26/2009

Crews with Wyoming Department of Transportation District 2 installed four new welcome signs at the state’s border with Nebraska this week. The new signs proclaim “Welcome to Wyoming” in gold color, old-West-style lettering across the top and the slogan “Forever West” in gold lettering across the bottom.

The signs also have a new feature in the background, replacing Devil’s Tower on the previous signs. It’s the same natural wonder that’s appearing on the new license plates - The Tetons. Of course, the signs remain true to Wyoming’s most famous feature with the Bucking Horse and Rider logo placed prominently at the center of the sign.
The new signs have been placed east of Lusk on WYO 20; east of Torrington on WYO 26; east of LaGrange on WYO 151 and east of Huntley on WYO 92. The welcome signs were made at WYDOT’s sign shop in Cheyenne.
