DMS Installation to Detour Southbound I-25 Traffic Near Wheatland

Date: 08/19/2009

WHEATLAND – Crews with Modern Electric of Casper will be installing a new overhead dynamic message sign across the southbound lanes of I-25 Monday, Aug. 24. The sign will be placed at milepost 77, or about two miles south of Wheatland.

During the installation, southbound I-25 traffic will be detoured at the South Wheatland Interchange and diverted to the service road. Southbound traffic will re-enter I-25 at the Highway 34 intersection.

The DMS installation is scheduled for 8 p.m., Monday and delays should be minimal. The installation will be on Monday only. Traffic control signs and flaggers will assist motorists through the detour.

WYDOT is installing three new DMS signs on I-25. On Aug. 25, crews will install a sign at milepost 15 (southbound lanes just north of Cheyenne) and on Aug. 26, crews will install a new sign at milepost 15 across the northbound lanes. These overhead signs are used to warn drivers about road conditions, upcoming road construction or other vital information.
