CASPER – The southbound off ramp from I-25 to Center Street will be closed Monday, Aug. 23 for one day as crews with the Wyoming Department of Transportation perform maintenance work on the North Platte River bridge, as well as on the driving and auxiliary lanes (the two right lanes). The closure may also be in effect Tuesday, Aug. 24, however at this time, it’s unknown if the work will take two days or if there will be a need to close the ramp Tuesday.

Detours will be posted. Drivers wanting to exit southbound I-25 onto Center Street will be detoured to the McKinley Street exit, underneath the interstate to F Street, then back to Center Street. Speeds will be reduced to 45 mph through the work zone. Additionally, those entering southbound I-25 from Poplar Street will encounter a stop sign prior to entering the interstate.

Workers will be making improvements to the bridge and approach area, removing the large bumps at the transition area on both ends of the bridge.
