Hauling begins in preparation for I-25 reconstruction west of Douglas

Date: 01/20/2011

Some winter road work is under way west of Douglas on Interstate 25.  Travelers west of Douglas, between mileposts 145 - 150, will notice that traffic has been reduced to one lane in either direction (for about 1,000 feet each). It's expected the lane reduction will last through February, possibly into March, depending on weather. Speed limits have been reduced in the area to 65 mph.

Hout Fencing of Wyoming has begun moving material from a stockpile near the Inez exit to a plant site within the construction area. Hout has been contracted to reconstruct 4.08 miles of I-25 beginning at milepost 145.49. As the weather warms, expect traffic to be switched to the northbound lanes while the southbound lanes are reconstructed first. The project is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, 2011.
