Final public meeting set May 18 for Casper South project

The Wyoming Department of Transportation will host a public meeting to present the final plan of the Wyoming Highway 220 (Casper South) project. The meeting will be held from 5:30 – 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, at the Natrona County Agriculture Resources and Learning Center, Mills Room, 2011 Fairgrounds Road, Casper.

This project involves widening the existing road from two lanes to four lanes from milepost 102 to milepost 108 on Wyoming Highway 220 southwest of Casper. The project extends the current four-lane highway south from Casper approximately six miles.
The project also includes the installation of overhead dynamic message signs, to be located facing both directions at approximately Gothberg Road.
This project will affect WYO 220 intersections at Jackson Canyon Road, El Rio Road, Bessemer Bend North Road, Goose Egg Road and Gothberg Road. All intersections will remain open during construction.
The project will be let to bid on June 9 and the overall completion date is Oct. 31, 2013.
