ORIN JCT. – On Monday, June 27, crews with Build Inc., will begin a mill and overlay on the bridge over Interstate 25 at Orin Jct. The project, expected to take about one month, will close the bridge and force detours of traffic onto and from US 18/20 at I-25.
Through-traffic north- and south-bound on I-25 will be unaffected. However, for any travelers who would normally use the overpass bridge to access US 18/20, a couple of detours will be in place.
For southbound I-25 traffic to access US 18/20, drivers will have to go past the interchange to a temporary crossover in the median of I-25, then switch directions and exit at the Orin Jct. exit. Traffic control will be in place to direct traffic to the crossover, and at the crossover, which is about two miles south of the interchange.
For motorists westbound on US 18/20, to go south on I-25, they will need to either use WYO 319 and enter the interstate at Glendo, or go north on I-25 to the first Douglas interchange and turn around.
Northbound I-25 motorists wishing to go east on US 18/20 will use the normal off ramp at Orin Jct. Drivers heading north from US 18/20 onto northbound I-25 will use the normal on ramp.
