Wyoming Department of Transportation

Open House Tuesday for Mills area projects

Date: 04/23/2012

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) will hold a public meeting for the final plan of the Poison Spider Road reconstruction project and the semi-final design of the Robertson Road reconstruction project from 5:30 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 24 at the Mills Senior and Community Center, 401 Wasatch Ave., Mills.

Beginning in late summer, Poison Spider Road will be reconstructed from the Robertson Road intersection into Mills. The 1.75 mile reconstruction will begin at the U.S. 20/26/Poison Spider Road intersection in Mills. Once completed, the road will be widened to two 12-foot driving lanes, with center turn lane, 4-foot shoulders and sidewalk in town. During construction, portions of Poison Spider will experience intermittent closures, though local access will be maintained. Construction is expected to be completed in 2014.
As part of this project, the intersection of Poison Spider Road and U.S. 20/26 will be rebuilt as will the intersection of Wyoming Boulevard at U.S. 20/26. These will include reconstruction of the highway approaching each intersection. The intersections will remain open during construction however delays should be expected.
The second project, the semi-final design of the Robertson Road reconstruction, is set to begin in 2014 and involves the reconstruction of Robertson Road south from the Poison Spider intersection 1.4 miles to the Green Valley subdivision. The reconstruction will include a new road surface with 12-foot driving lane and center turn lane; sewer work, sidewalk, detached path and a pedestrian underpass near the river.
Representatives with WYDOT and others involved will be on hand to answer questions about these projects.
