New traffic restrictions set for Douglas Fourth Street project

DOUGLAS - Beginning Thursday, July 5 motorists using Fourth Street in Douglas will notice new traffic restrictions however, they shouldn't cause increased delays.

Crews will begin paving work on the project, which runs just north of Richards Street to Center Street. Paving will encompass two to three blocks at a time and within these work zones, traffic will be reduced to one lane alternating directions. Flaggers and traffic safety devices will be in place to help direct traffic. The paving work will begin at Irwin Street. Within these zones, side street access to Fourth will be closed.

Please pay attention to flaggers while traveling through the work zone and obey all safety signs and speed limits.
