Resurfacing operations begin on Casper area highways

Date: 09/19/2012

CASPER – For the next few weeks, WYDOT crews will be refurbishing the driving lanes of portions of Old Yellowstone Highway (U.S. 20/26) and Interstate 25. While there will be no road closures, traffic will be reduced during the asphalt milling and resurfacing.

Starting today (Sept. 19) crews are beginning work on Old Yellowstone Highway between Salt Creek Highway and the Shoshoni Bypass. The work will take approximately two weeks during which time, traffic will be reduced to two lanes.

Once that project is completed, crews will move to Interstate 25 where they will mill and resurface I-25 between Poplar Street and Wardwell Road interchanges. Work will begin on the northbound lanes then switch to the southbound lanes. During this project, traffic may be reduced to one lane northbound during that work, then one lane southbound during that work. This project is scheduled to take approximately two weeks as well.
