Public Meeting slated in Etna
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) will be hosting a public meeting at the Etna Community Center, 107736 US Highway 89, on March 5 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The purpose of this open-house-style meeting will be to provide a project update and gather public input for the US 89 Etna North Environmental Assessment (EA).
A scoping meeting was held in Alpine in 2008. The scoping meeting served to inform the public of the proposed improvements and gather input from the local community, as required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). NEPA helps agencies integrate environmental values into their decision making processes by documenting the environmental impacts of the proposed actions.
The public meeting on March 5 will include information on the project history, purpose and need, alternatives development, and project schedule. Preliminary design plans will be available for review and comment. WYDOT officials will be on-hand to answer any specific questions or concerns.
Public participation is strongly encouraged and recommended.
"This is the perfect time for residents to get that personalized attention and get answers directly from the engineers involved," WYDOT Resident Engineer Mike Garner said.
