Rotomilling nearly complete on Cowley project
Rotomilling of the asphalt pavement roadway is nearly complete on the $6.6 million Cowley Streets Improvement Project, and installation of storm drain pipe is scheduled to begin next week on the west end of the project.
“We should be able to keep two-lane traffic in place for the most part throughout the work zone, though there may be a few occasions where we need to create single-lane traffic,” said Doug Jensen, WYDOT project engineer in Basin. “Please practice safety as you navigate the work zones.”
Weekly progress meetings open to the public and media are being held at 10 a.m. every Monday at the project staging area, 155 3rd St. E., in Cowley on Jim Tucker’s property.
Reiman Corporation of Cheyenne is the prime contractor on the Cowley streets project.
The 2009 Cowley Streets Improvement Project includes grading, draining, removal and replacement of surfacing, sidewalk, curb and gutter, guardrail, placing crushed gravel, asphalt paving, concrete pavement, storm sewer, landscaping, electrical systems, fencing, and other work on 1.5 miles of U.S. 310 beginning at reference marker 241.73 in the Town of Cowley in Big Horn County.
The project completion date is June 30, 2010.
