Manderson-Hyattville road widening, overlay project under way

Short traffic delays are expected in the coming weeks on WYO 31 between Manderson and Hyattville due to an 8.7-mile highway widening and asphalt overlay project.

McGarvin-Moberly Construction Co., of Worland, is the prime contractor on the $2.83 million project.

McGarvin-Moberly is responsible for grading, road widening and placing asphalt pavement.

“The highway will be two-feet wider on each shoulder which will enhance the safety of the roadway,” said Dan McAfee, WYDOT resident engineer in Worland. “The contractor is currently hauling crushed gravel and widening shoulders, so please drive careful through the work zones. During paving, drivers should expect short delays through the paving operation.”

McAfee said paving is expected to begin in early May, with a chip seal finish applied to the roadway by the end of May.

Completion date for the project is Sept. 30, 2009.

WYDOT contact for this project is Resident Engineer Dan McAfee, 347-2822.
