WYO 138 chip sealing to begin near St. Stephen’s
Chip sealing operations are scheduled to begin Monday, June 22, on 7.95 miles of WYO 138 between St. Stephen’s and Hudson and a portion of WYO 137 (17 Mile Road) at the intersection with WYO 138, according to Erik Smith, Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer in Lander.
Weather permitting, Smith said chip sealing of the highways should be completed by Friday, June 26.
“Please obey posted speed limits during the chip sealing operation, and obey flaggers and traffic control for safety’s sake,” said Smith. “In work zones, pay attention or pay the price.”
High Country Construction Inc. of Lander is the prime contractor on the $9.5 million project to rebuild WYO 138 between mileposts .047 east of Hudson at the junction with WYO 789 and milepost 8.002 near St. Stephen’s. The scope of improvements includes grading, draining, placing crushed gravel base and asphalt pavement surfacing, fencing, and other work.
Project completion date for the project is July 15.
WYDOT contact for this project is resident engineer Erik Smith at 332-4151.
