Chip sealing to begin west of Cody
Wyoming Department of Transportation chip sealing crews are scheduled for summer work beginning Monday, July 13, on US 14/16/20 west of Cody.
Work is scheduled between mileposts 17.02 and 27.53 (10.51 miles) on July 13-15, about halfway between Cody and the east gate of Yellowstone National Park, according to Shane Wilson, WYDOT chip sealing foreman.
Seal crews are scheduled to chip seal WYO 120 between Cody and Meeteetse July 15-21, beginning in Meeteetse and heading north 20.27 miles (mileposts 51.73 to 72). The crew is scheduled to move to the Ten Sleep area and chip seal the Big Trails roadway (WYO 434) between mileposts 9.4 and 15 on July 23.
“Please drive carefully and obey reduced speed limits near chip sealing operations,” said WYDOT spokesman Cody Beers. “Crews will be working during the days and into the nights, and safe driving and safe work operations are very important throughout these projects. Please be patient as this important work is being completed.”
“The chip seals will be swept at the end of each day, but some loose rock may still be present. Drivers are asked to slow down in these areas in order to prevent windshield damage after operations have ceased for the day,” Beers said.
