School crossing light times change Wednesday in Cody

Beginning at noon Wednesday, Feb. 24, school crossing light times will change on Sheridan Avenue near Cody’s City Park and the Park County Courthouse.

The changes, implemented at the request of Cody school officials, will remain in effect through May 26, the final day of the 2009-10 school year.

The new school crossing light times for Monday through Thursday include: 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.; 11:25 a.m. to 12:35 p.m.; and 3:20 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Fridays, the school crossing lights will be in operation between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., and 12:25 p.m. and 12:50 p.m.

When the lights are in operation, a 20 mph speed limit is in effect, and drivers are warned that school-age pedestrians are in the area.

The school crossing lights will not be in operation between April 2 and April 9 during the school district’s spring vacation.

The Cody Police Department has been advised of the time changes for the school crossing lights.

Questions regarding the school crossing light times should be directed to Cody High School Principal David Treick at 587-4251.
