South Fork Road sealing scheduled for next week near Cody

Road improvements are scheduled to resume Tuesday, July 13, on 6.83 miles of Wyoming 291 (South Fork Road) near Cody, according to Todd Frost, Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer in Cody.

Prime contractor Riverside Contracting of Missoula, Mont., is scheduled to begin sealing roadway shoulders on July 13.

“The contractor is tentatively scheduled to start chip sealing on Wednesday, July 14, and all work is dependent upon favorable weather,” Frost said.

The chip sealing operation should be complete in three to four working days.

Motorists should expect delays of up to 20 minutes, and pilot cars and flaggers will be used to control traffic.

“Please allow extra time in traveling South Fork Road during this project. We need all drivers to slow down for their safety and the safety of workers,” Frost said.

The chip sealing will complete work on the South Fork project.

The South Fork Road asphalt rehabilitation project is being funded through the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Contract completion date for the project is Sept. 15, 2010.
