Sage Creek bridge, Powell-area bridge next focus of rehabilitation project
A $1.88 million bridge rehabilitation project is continuing in Park County, and work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Aug. 11, on the Sage Creek bridge on U.S. 14-A north of Cody, according to Todd Frost, Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer in Cody.
Prime contractor S&S Builders, LLC, of Cheyenne will be repairing an expansion joint on the Sage Creek bridge at milepost 3.77 on U.S. 14-A, and work is expected to take up to three weeks to complete.
Frost said one-way traffic will be in place with temporary concrete barrier placed on the bridge to separate work efforts and traffic. Temporary traffic signals will be used to move traffic across the bridge.
“Drivers should expect up to two minutes delay, and during improvements, there will be a 12-foot width restriction in effect,” he said.
The contractor is also scheduled to begin work Monday, Aug. 16, on the bridge over the Shoshone River at milepost 9.55 on Wyoming 295, south of Powell.
“The Powell-area bridge work consists of expansion device repair, and a 16-foot width restriction will be in effect,” Frost said.
