Little Wind River bridge near Ethete next focus of rehabilitation project
A $1.88 million bridge rehabilitation project is continuing in Fremont County, and work is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 20, on the Little Wind River bridge on Wyoming 132 near Ethete, according to Todd Frost, Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer in Cody.
Prime contractor S&S Builders, LLC, of Cheyenne will be replacing approach slabs and repairing expansion joints on the Little Wind River bridge at milepost 7.68 on Wyoming 132, and work will take about a month to complete.
Frost said one-way traffic will be in place at the bridge with temporary concrete barrier placed on the bridge to separate work efforts and traffic. Temporary traffic signals will be used to move traffic across the bridge.
“Drivers should expect up to two minutes delay, and during improvements, there will be a 12-foot width restriction in effect,” he said.
S&S Builders, LLC, of Cheyenne was awarded the bid to improve 18 bridges in Northwest Wyoming in April. Works consists of bridge rehabilitation, grading, draining, placing crushed gravel base and asphalt pavement surfacing, structure and bridge deck repair, and other work at various locations in Big Horn, Fremont, Hot Springs and Park counties.
Contract completion date is Oct. 31, 2010.
WYDOT contact for this project is Resident Engineer Todd Frost, 587-2220.
