Inspection leads to lower weight limits on Wyoming 170 bridge

A recent inspection of a bridge over Owl Creek on Wyoming 170 (Hamilton Dome Road) near Thermopolis has revealed further deterioration of the existing timber girders.

The bridge is located at milepost 10.58 on Wyoming 170.

WYDOT is in the process of lowering the weight limits of vehicles crossing the bridge to:
-- Type 3 truck is 11 tons;
-- Type 3S2 truck is 19 tons;
-- Type 3-3 truck is 21 tons.

WYDOT is proceeding with development of a future project to replace the bridge.
