Chip sealing scheduled next week on U.S. 14/16/20 west of Greybull and U.S. 14 in Big Horn County
A $3.3 million contract chip sealing project is scheduled to continue next week in Big Horn and Park counties.
Prime contractor Riverside Contracting, Inc., of Missoula, Mont., is scheduled to chip-seal U.S. 14 (mileposts 15.33 to 20.37) near Shell, and U.S. 14/16/20 (mileposts 77.74 to 93.00) west of Greybull.
All work is dependent on favorable weather.
A contract chip sealing schedule will be released at a later date for highways in Hot Springs and Fremont counties.
"All work will be controlled with flaggers and pilot vehicles," said Todd Frost, Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer in Cody. "Motorists should expect traffic delays of up to 20 minutes during the contract chip sealing and sweeping operations. There will be night-time flagging and pilot car with traffic delays while there are loose chips on the roadways."
The contractor's scope of work includes chip sealing and other work on 111.24 miles of various roads in central and northwest Wyoming.
Contract completion date is Aug. 31, 2013.
