April 17, 2017

Concrete-barriers.jpgRepair of damaged concrete barrier has started on US 14A between Lovell and Burgess Junction.

The $64,000 project includes removing and replacing 130 feet of concrete barrier at milepost 71 on US 14A, about 22 miles east of Lovell, according to Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer Michael Miller of Basin.

The prime contractor is Linch Environmental Contractors of Linch, Wyo. All work is dependent upon favorable weather.

"The project is taking place where the road is currently closed for the winter," Miller said. "U.S. 14A's annual spring opening usually happens prior to Memorial Day weekend. It's our hope to be completed with this project by the time the road opens for the summer travel season."

Contract completion date is May 24, 2017.
