Erosion repair project scheduled to start on U.S. 14/16/20 near Yellowstone National Park
Erosion repairs are scheduled to begin next week at four locations on U.S. 14/16/20 near Yellowstone National Park, according to Todd Frost, Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer in Cody.
Prime contractor Hinckley James, Inc., of Cowley is expected to start work at milepost 5.95 next week, which is 5.95 east of Yellowstone's east entrance.
"This is erosion repair from the flooding from two summers ago," said Frost. "Traffic will be controlled with flaggers during working hours, and delays will be minimal.
Other erosion repairs on the $814,000 project are expected at mileposts 0.49, 0.67, and 4.32.
The contractor's scope of work includes grading, placing rocks and other work at the five locations between Yellowstone National Park and Cody.
Contract completion date is Oct. 31, 2013.
