U.S. 14A chip sealing to begin at Powell's east edge
Chip sealing of a $1.7 million pavement improvement project is scheduled to begin Monday, June 17, at Powell's east edge on U.S. 14A.
"All work is weather permitting," according to Todd Frost, Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer in Cody. "Motorists can expect 20-minute delays while the work is happening. Traffic will be controlled with flaggers and a pilot vehicle."
Frost said motorists should expect nighttime delays with a pilot vehicle and flaggers.
Chip sealing of the project will complete all project-related work, except for minor cleanup.
The U.S. 14A pavement improvement project consists of shoulder flattening, milling of existing pavement, leveling, a two-inch asphalt pavement overlay, and chip seal between milepost 25.20 (just east of Homesteader Park) and milepost 29.393 (intersection of U.S. 14A and Wyoming 114 at Garland) on U.S. 14A.
Prime contractor of the pavement improvement project is Mountain Construction of Lovell. Completion date for the project is Oct. 31, 2013.
WYDOT contact for this project is Cody Resident Engineer Todd Frost.
