A $4.96 million highway improvement project is scheduled to resume Tuesday, June 6, west of Riverton on US 26.

High Country Construction Inc., of Lander, is the prime contractor on the project which begins about a mile east of Diversion Dam Junction (milepost 99.62) and extends 5.06 miles (to milepost 104.68) toward Riverton.

Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer Robert Scheidemantel of Riverton said chip sealing is scheduled to begin the week of June 6.

“The contractor will begin fog sealing the shoulders of the highway and chip sealing, and traffic will be controlled with flaggers and a pilot car. Expect delays of up to 20 minutes on the project during these operations. Work is expected to take up a week,” he said.

Completion date for the project is June 30.

Project scope of work includes grading, draining, milling asphalt, placing crushed gravel base, asphalt paving, chip sealing, bridge rehabilitation, fencing and other work on 5.062 miles of US 26 beginning at milepost 99.62 between Dubois and Riverton.
