WYDOT director discusses need for infrastructure investment

May 8, 2015

WYDOT Director John Cox, who is serving as president of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, is being featured on Transportation TV discussing the need for investment in the nation's infrastructure. Cox urges Congress to take action to pass a multi-year surface transportation bill that provides adequate investment for federal highway and transit programs. Cox says America is seeing mounting evidence that the nation’s aging transportation systems need greater investment. “I think that the most evident effects are going to be seen probably along a couple of fronts," he said. "First Americans will literally feel the effects of the continued wear and tear and access to mass transit and other essential transportation services will decline.” Cox made the comments in advance of Infrastructure Week, May 11-15.
