WYDOT hosts transportation summit Dec. 7

The Wyoming Department of Transportation will be hosting a Summit on the Future of Transportation in Rural States on Dec. 7, 2017. The event will take place at the Ramkota Hotel and Conference Center in Casper and will bring together transportation officials, lawmakers and policy experts from Wyoming, as well as from surrounding states.

The event will open a dialog about issues facing agencies around the region as well as highlight the 100th anniversary of WYDOT, formerly the Wyoming Highway Department. 

Wyoming State Treasurer Mark Gordon will be speaking at the event, as well as Bill Panos, WYDOT Director. Other speakers will include John DeVierno, attorney at law; Bryan Cawley, of the Federal Highway Administration; William Swelbar, a chief industry strategist; Vince Garcia, WYDOT’s GIS/ITS manager; and Ali Ragan, GIS/ITS project manager.

The event is hosted in part by The Wyoming Contractor’s Association, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), the Wyoming County Commissioners Association and WyHy Credit Union.
