Location: 12 miles east of Laramie in the Pole Mountain Range, in a field on private property about 300 yards north of I-80. 
Known Details:
Chapman was a commercially rated pilot who was following another plane from Ft. Collins, Colo. to Alpine. He was en-route to Afton from Lakeland, Fla. There was a snowstorm and there was radio traffic between the two pilots. Chapman said his plane was stalling out and was having some engine problems. That was the last radio communication before the crash.
