Casper West Belt

The project would consist of a new highway between State Highway 220 and US 20/26 west of the City of Casper (Figure 1-2). The southern terminus would be on Highway 220, approximately three miles southwest of Robertson Road. The northern terminus would be at the intersection of US 20/26 (Shoshoni Bypass) and Business 20/26. The two-lane highway would be approximately 7.5 miles in length and would meet current design standards for a typical rural highway.

Wyoming 70 Slide Repair

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is proposing to remediate a portion of WYO Highway 70 between Baggs, population 400, and Encampment, population 500, at reference marker (RM) 30.5. The project is located in Carbon County within the Medicine Bow/Routt National Forest, 30.5 miles east of Baggs, 27 miles west of Encampment. The project is approximately 0.9 miles in length. The highway was reconstructed in the late 1980’s, and is comprised of 2 twelve-foot travel lanes and three-foot shoulders. This highway is classified as a rural major collector. The year 2010 average daily traffic count was 143 vehicles per day with 7% trucks. There have been no crashes reported within one mile either side of this location.

Torrington Urban Project

The proposed project would improve US 85, US 26 and US 26-85 in Torrington. Proposed improvements include reconstruction and widening of US 26-85 and US 26, developing a continuous sidewalk system along US 26 and US 26-85, improving the existing storm drainage system on US 26 and US 26-85, and the realignment of US 85 with a grade separated crossing of the BNSF Railway tracks. The No-Build alternative and one Build alternative (the Preferred Alternative) were analyzed in the Environemntal Assessment (EA).

The Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) was completed on Feb. 4, 2008

County Line West Section, Tensleep - Buffalo, Washakie County

WYDOT is proposing to reconstruct a section of US Highway 16 in Washakie County between the towns of Ten Sleep and Buffalo. More specifically the project begins just south of the Bighorn County line (MP 43.98) and continues just north of the Tensleep Creek Bridge (MP 41.72).

Togwotee Pass EIS

The project is intended to improve approximately 37.7 miles of US 287/26 from Moran Junction east to the Shoshone National Forest boundary in Wyoming (mileposts 3.01 to 40.71). Primary improvements to the roadway corridor include adding shoulders and clear zones, repairing landslide areas, and correcting substandard horizontal and vertical curves. This project also proposes to improve deteriorating bridges, enhance pullouts, consolidate recreational parking, and provide snowmobile under-crossings.

North Sybille Creek

The Wyoming Department of Transportation is improving Wyoming Highway 34 through Sybille Canyon with a series of three projects. The three projects are part of seven projects which have been designed to systematically improve the entire length (approximately 52 miles) of Wyoming Highway 34. Four projects are completed.

The remaining three highway sections are as follows:

(1) Morton Pass Section, beginning about 9.7 mi northeast of Bosler Junction and continuing over Morton Pass for approximately 6.9 miles. (MP 9.7- 16.6);

(2) Sybille Canyon Section, beginning at the east end of the Morton Pass Section and continuing for approximately 5.4 miles through Sybille Canyon (MP 16.5- 21.9);

(3) North Sybille Creek Section beginning at the east end of the Sybille Canyon section and continuing for approximately 5.9 miles to approximately 2.1 miles southwest of the Albany-Platte County line, (MP 21.9- 27.8).

Steamboat Point

The Wyoming Department of Transportation is going to improve a 6.1-mile section of US Highway 14 (US 14) in Sheridan County. The Steamboat Point Section of US 14 begins approximately 8 miles east of Burgess Junction at mile post (MP) 65.01 and extends eastward to MP 71.1. This section of US 14 lies entirely within the Bighorn National Forest and Wyoming state lands.

Flying V

The study area for this EA includes an area surrounding the 1.3-mile section of US 85 (MP 236.8 to MP 238.1) located approximately 8 miles north of Newcastle and approximately 20 miles south of the Black Hills National Forest.

Laramie South

The Wyoming Department of Transportation plans to make improvements to a 21-mile section of Highway 287 (US 287) in Albany County from Laramie, Wyoming to the Colorado state line to improve safety and mobility along this section of highway. US 287 is a principal arterial that provides an important connection between Laramie and Fort Collins, Colorado. US 287 is heavily used by Laramie residents, local residents living along the corridor, as well as by regional travelers and recreationists from other parts of the state and Colorado.

Cody to Powell

This Environmental Assessment addresses improvements to US 14A, between Cody and Powell, Wyoming. The primary need for improvements is to address the growing traffic volumes along US 14A as well as to arrest the growing number of crashes and the crash rate.

Hoback Junction EA

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) proposes improvements to a 0.6-mile section of U.S. Highway 26/89, between milepost (MP) 141.4 and 140.7, including the U.S. 26/89, U.S. 189/191, and U.S. 26/89/189/191 intersection and the Snake River Bridge immediately southwest of the Hoback Junction community.

High Plains Road Interchange

A new interchange is open on I-25 south of Cheyenne about five miles north of the Colorado state line. The interchange is between the Terry Ranch Road (Exit 2) and College Drive (Exit 7) interchanges. The project was supported by the Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization, Laramie County, the city of Cheyenne and the Cheyenne-Laramie County Corporation for Economic Development.
