WYO 220 - Muddy Gap to Casper EA

Douglas Streets - Richards Street and 4th Street

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT), in coordination with The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), has down-scaled the scope of the road improvements that were being studied in the City of Douglas Environmental Assessment FHWA-WY-EA-08-03, 4th and Richards streets, Converse County, Wyoming. The project has been down-scaled based on available funding and consists mainly of milling and re-paving the existing within the existing right of way along with modifications at Interstate- 25 (1-25) interchange to improve access to WYDOT's proposed maintenance facility near I -25.
As a result of these changes, WYDOT and FHWA have determined that the project is categorically excluded from further documentation under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The rationale for this decision is the lack of improvements and resulting impacts outside of the right of way. The environmental impacts associated with the project have been documented and serve as the basis for the NEPA decision that is being made.

Three categorical exclusions were completed for the above project.
