Fulton named assistant chief engineer

January 27, 2016

Keith Fulton of Cheyenne has been named WYDOT’s assistant chief engineer for engineering and planning.

Fulton moves to his new position after serving as state bridge engineer since 2010.

He replaces Gregg Fredrick, who assumed duties as WYDOT chief engineer late last year.

A Riverton native, Fulton earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Wyoming. While he was student, he worked for the UW Civil Engineering Department.

He first worked for the Wyoming Highway Department during the summer of 1989 as a temporary employee based in Laramie. He joined the department on a permanent basis in early 1992 as an engineering analyst in the Bridge Program at Headquarters.

Fulton later served as a principal bridge engineer and then as assistant bridge engineer. Altogether, he has compiled more than 29 years of service with the state, mostly with WYDOT.

His professional affiliations include the Wyoming Engineering Society, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials’ Subcommittee on Bridges and Structures, and the Cheyenne Engineers Club, of which he is currently serving as vice president.
