I-80 Summit Rest Area reopens

The Summit Rest Area on Interstate-80 between Cheyenne and Laramie reopened on Feb. 18.

All normal services are again available at the facility located at the highest point on I-80.

WYDOT has been able to contract for temporary maintenance services at the rest area until a new full-time caretaker can be hired.

WYDOT closed the rest area on Jan. 27, due to a lack of maintenance services after the previous caretaker left unexpectedly.
