The annual fall closure of US 14-16-20 between Pahaska and the East Gate of Yellowstone National Park is scheduled to begin Friday, Dec. 1.
The seasonal closure of two miles of US 14-16-20 highway between Pahaska and Yellowstone happens due to the limited traffic numbers in the winter. The stretch of highway has also traditionally been a popular winter recreation area for cross-country skiers and people with snowmobiles.
"This is the normal time of the year for WYDOT's seasonal road-closure operations to take place," said WYDOT maintenance foreman Jim Berry of Cody.
