Weather closes westbound I-80 lane west of Cheyenne

Heavy rains caused pavement damage Friday that forced the restriction of westbound I-80 to a single lane between the Remount Interchange and Buford west of Cheyenne.

WYDOT maintenance crews were working in the area Friday and scheduled to continue Saturday and Sunday. The crews are confident they can reopen the driving lane with the help of some dry weather.

WYDOT urges motorists traveling to Laramie for the University of Wyoming football game Saturday to plan ahead and use common sense. Allow yourself plenty of time to arrive, turn off the cruise control in wet or damaged areas and drive at a safe speed.
