CDL Applicants

Applicants applying for jobs that hold a Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) and/or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) must register with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse for the purpose of supplying employer consent requests to WYDOT to query Clearinghouse records.

For applicable candidates, registration with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse will be requested in an offer of employment. Applicants will also be asked to complete a Pre-Employment Drug Test, a Previous Employer History form, and a General Consent form as soon as the job offer is extended in an effort to expedite the Clearinghouse verification process.

Employees will be prohibited from doing safety-sensitive work and operating Class A Vehicles until the Clearinghouse verification is complete and indicates that there were not any violations found in the Clearinghouse records.

Applicants hired without a CLP/CDL will be required to complete the Clearinghouse registration process as soon as they obtain their CLP.

Registration with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse does not indicate an interview or offer of employment will be made.
