Culvert replacement on WYO 353 will force temporary closure, detour

October 23, 2026

BOULDER, Wyo. — Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 28, the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT), will temporarily close a section of Wyoming State Highway 353 just west of the intersection with Boulder Lake Road (County Road 210) for three days to repair and replace two irrigation culverts.

Impact on Local Traffic:

  • Detour: Drivers who need access to the east side of the closure will have to detour south of WYO 353 on Grable Lane and then to County Road 210.
  • Advisory: WYDOT strongly recommends that residents and recreational visitors plan their travel itineraries accordingly to avoid delays during the temporary closure window.

Maintenance teams scheduled the repair for this fall to take advantage of seasonal low water levels in the local irrigation canal, ensuring a more efficient and safer operations environment.

Crews will work to complete the replacement as quickly as possible and appreciate the public's patience as these necessary infrastructure improvements are made. WYDOT would like to remind drivers to put their phone down, be aware of roadside workers and obey all roadside signs and closures.  Drivers can sign up for 511 Notify alerts at https://www.wyoroad.info/511/511NotifyAnnouncement.html.
