All alpine passes now open

WYO 70 over Battle Pass in south-central Wyoming opened on June 3. Battle Pass is the last of the seasonally closed alpine passes in the state to reopen. WYO 130 over the Snowy Range opened on May 24, and US 14A between Burgess Junction and Lovell opened on May 22. Study estimates airports contribute $1.4 billion to Wyoming's economy

A study completed for the Wyoming Department of Transportation’s Aeronautics Division found that 35 of the state’s public-use airports generate a combined $1.4 billion in economic activity in the state annually. That figure was derived using the Federal Aviation Administration’s approved methodology for estimating an airport’s economic impacts, which considers jobs created or supported by the airports...

Snowy Range Pass opens

WYO 130 over Snowy Range Pass opened for the summer season at dawn Saturday. Travelers are advised that current high country conditions are wet with cold nights. Motorcyclists and bikers should watch for patches of frozen run-off before the morning sun dries road surface. US 14A opens

A 22-mile section of US 14A in the Big Horn Mountains reopened for the summer season Thursday. Motorists are cautioned that winter conditions can still occur on the highway, which is lined with snowbanks several feet high and still relatively narrow. US 14A spring opening expected May 22

The annual spring opening of U.S. 14A between Burgess Junction and Lovell is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, May 22. "We've broken through to the Burgess Junction side of the mountain," said Jason Fleming, WYDOT maintenance foreman in Lovell.
