Work on section of I-25 near Casper starts March 19

March 13, 2018

CASPER - On Monday, March 19 work will begin on Interstate 25 from Curtis Street to just beyond Poplar Street in Casper. This project will rehabilitate the interstate bridges through town.

Initially, (on Monday) crews will close the passing lanes in both directions to begin removing the center barriers in order to make crossover lanes. Traffic will be reduced to the outside or driving lanes. Access to the ramps will be maintained however the speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph. It’s expected this will take about one week to complete.

Once the traffic crossovers are in place, crews will move traffic to the northbound lanes, one lane either direction so work can begin on the southbound bridges. Access to the on and off ramps will be maintained, with the exception of the northbound exit ramp at Bryan Stock Trail – traffic wishing to exit at Bryan Stock Trail must use the McKinley Street exit ramp. All on ramp traffic will be required to stop prior to merging onto the interstate. Interstate traffic has the right-of-way.

The speed limit will remain at 45 mph during construction.  The entire project is expected to be completed by Oct. 31.
